Special Session on Fires

Wildfires and Remote Sensing

The scope of this special session is to collect contributions submitted to the 44th EARSeL Symposium and focused specifically on wildfire monitoring. The aim is to cover a broad range of topics (data, algorithms, products, validation, impacts assessment) that have the common thematic topic of being focused on the use of remote sensing technologies for monitoring and assessing the impacts of wildfires. The special session will, however, focus in particular on innovative methodologies and algorithms to process satellite data and on multi-source, multi-scale data and time series analysis.

List of topics

  • Wildfire detection and monitoring,
  • Artificial intelligence and deep learning algorithms
  • Information extraction from time series analysis
  • Validation and accuracy assessment
  • Other
